DIY Shoe Bling!

What girl doesn't love shoes, right? So I was thrilled when I came across this DIY shoe project over  Honestly WTF.

Why spend hundreds of dollars to get these from Miu Miu...

When you can spend much less and get these!

The folks over at Honestly WTF used Vans for this DIY project but I think I would use a pair that were a little more inexpensive as a practice test first... just in case!

Here is what you need:

  • a pair of white canvas shoes
  • 8 ounces of Mod Podge
  • 1.5 ounces of coarse gold glitter
  • 1 small and 1 medium flat brush
  • assorted rhinestones in settings
  • heavy duty adhesive
  • small plastic tray
  • tape

  • And tadaaa!!!

Wear them with or without the laces!

For comprehensive directions visit Honestly WTF here

    Have fun!

Tea is the Answer for Everything... Almost

There are usually only three things a girl needs to lift her spirits when feeling down....

    1.  A cup of tea

    2. A close girlfriend to     a) provide support and encouraging words   b) provide a shoulder to cry on    c) participate with you in a bitchfest

    3. Nutella (I eat it straight out of the jar with a spoon - but if you prefer to be a little more classy, feel free to spread it on a fresh, warm croissant)

However, if these three things fail to help...

    1. Trade in the tea for champagne...

    2. ... and spend some quality time with "The Girls"

    Take A Pause

Sometimes we all need a reminder...

A Just Darling Home - Inside and Out

    Antique Cape, Norwich VT

I came across this darling home and fell in love.  The landscaping is beautiful and the home invites you to curl up in one of its many nooks with a cup of tea and a book from one of the built-in bookcases that can be found in every single room!

    The lovely exterior

    There's even a hammock! *Sigh

And now for the darling interior...

    Cozy country kitchen

Gorgeous big windows and farm sink

    Built-ins...

    And more built-ins!

Beautiful laundry/mudroom... and every country home needs a dog!  I like the idea of combining the laundry and mudroom.  It's much handier to have your laundry off the kitchen than it is to have to trek downstairs for it.

A doggy shower!!!  Such a fantastic idea!

    Powder room... with more books!

More built-in bookcases and a built-in liquor cabinet as well.  Great use of space!

I like the skylight at the top of the stairs.  All the windows make this home bright and beautiful.

Top floor bedroom - books, books, books!  And what do you think is through the adorable cubby door??

And through the cubby door is.... an art studio!!!!  This is a room over the garage - great use of space!

Another bedroom with lots of light.

I love the clawfoot tub and the idea of using an old wooden ladder as a towel rack.

A skylight in the shower lets in more light.

Isn't this house just absolutely darling?  I love the art studio, all the windows, and the built-in bookshelves everywhere... not to mention the inviting sitting areas in the yard.

What is your favourite aspect of the home?

Do you take diamonds or pearls with your tea?

Are you a tea or a coffee person?
